UV in breeding systems

Hi Dman,
1) I´ve seen this book advertised before. Amazon listed it for 40,00 but has not a single copy and everyone else is pricing it 400,00 !!!
Don´t know what happened but its quite a lot of money for me now. If anyone can find this book for a lower price, please tell me. If its not in a on-line store we can arrenge things, just PM me.
2) Take your time but don´t forget about us ! ;)
3) Will search on that.
4) Do you think there´s any difference between paralel with splited flow or in line with total flow ? If flow and time are/were inversely proportional there won´t be a difference.
The reason I was thinking "paralel" is that I can upgrade it from one to two, or even three bulbs without disasembling everything. Lazy is my middle name so tell me if I´m compromising quality here.

Anderson,
1) That's CRAZY!!!
2) I have the pics, just need to re-size and upload, hopefully later today. (be honest, more like 3am)
3) There's all kinds of different ones out there.
4) The difference is that in series you can GUARANTEE that all of the water passed through the entire length bulbs, where in parallel you can't. I'm sure in some instances some water will scoot by without ever coming in contact with UV irradiation, not the goal here.

Izing pics is a PITA for me so here's a quick verbal
1. Take one of THESE (3/4in fits a T8 bulb) and cut it in half
2. glue each half into a TEE like THIS.
3. cut, fit and glue the two TEE's to a length of pipe so that the overall length when all tightened up only a 1/4in longer than the length of the bulb, whether it's 3ft, 4ft, or 10.
4. Wire up some endcaps to a ballast and plumb it in.

Just two last doubts (fo now...).

One dumb plan I had was to run a bypass line out of the UV so I could increase tank water turnover without diminishing contact time. Didn´t figure out bacteria and everything else would be laughing at me through the bypass...

This led me to the other doubt. Would 490gph be enough to supply the tanks ? There would be twelve 10g tanks, so little more than 40gph/tank. Would that be good ? What flow do you have through your tanks (BS, Larvae and GO) ?

Anderson.
