uv sterilizer help

I got a new aqua uv sterilizer today and used the same powerhead I had on teh old one but now the flow is a lot slower comming out is this normal??? Do uvs slow water to zap it more?

You want the incoming water to be sklow as it passes the UV to kill everything that passes by it. If the water fklow is fast you wont have a real good kill rate, and you would be defeating the pupose.

but do soem uvs do that for you...take teh flow and slow it down as its goin through?

Not that I know of, the ones I know of work off of the flow provided by a power head.
