UV sterilizer necessary with kalkwasser dosing?

I know kalkwasser won't kill all the nasties in the tank - but I'm mainly looking for water clarity. Is a U.V. sterilizer even necessary with a kalkwasser reactor running on the tank?

neither one will do much of anything for water clarity - use carbon and maybe a filter sock
