UV sterilizer questions???

I just installed the Coralife turbotwist UV sterilizer in my sump for my 75gallon FOWLR tank. I am running an Aquaclear 30 175gph powerhead on it. The box states that you should run between 100and 200gph powerheads for the sterilizer. I have been getting some advice from others here that 175 is too much, I have the flow adjuster set to the lower setting on the powerhead. Whats everyones opinions on the flow, am I ok with what I have or should I go to a lower gph powerhead, and if so what flow. thanks

Its a 9watt by the way, and I would like to run it to destroy parasites as well.

I don't know enough about proper sizing of a UV to help you. Maybe someone else will jump in.

I guess my main question is just about the flow. Should I stay with my aquaclear powerhead flowing 175gph, or switch to the smaller one with 80gph

Try your rate at about 100 to 125gph.The more dwell time the better.I believe in alittle overkill with uv.Maybe you can replace it with a 25watt sterlizer.That's what i have on my 75 at a flow rate of about 125gph.Works well,if i need to slow alge i turn it up to about 250-300gph..Hope this helps ya!
