Heat is not an issue, it would be more for parasites and it is a 150. Thanks

Do you have an Ich out brake. I put a UV on my 140 and it didn't help as much as I was told. My Powder blue tank always seem to be getting Ich, but it never transfered to the other fish. I then put on a larger sump and added a refugium witch made my water quality much better and now he doesn't have Ich anymore. Just food for thought.
As for UV I would go with the aqua UV's that have the built in wiper.

Yeah, I am having an ich problem right now. I just added more filtration yesterday and I am hoping that will clear up the water more. I will keep a close eye on them. Thanks for your help.

People will say bad things about odyssea brand items but I can personally vouch for these, they work just like the name brand ones and you can also swap out the bulbs with name brand bulbs if you are really paranoid. You cant beat the price.

A uv sterilizer will not clear up the ich already on this fish, It will only clear up what is floating around in the water column and even then not 100 perc. To even do that it needs to be dialed in on the flow rate for parasites which is usually diff than for alage blooms. It's easier to keep the fish from getting it than to cure it once they have it.
