V Lion + Puffer?

Just wondering if these two are compatible. I've read that puffer can nip at slow big finned fish, but is it persistent nipping?

I have a V. Lion, a Dogface Puffer and a Stars and stripes puffer in a 210g ........no problems....as for your hermit crabs...puffer snack most likely

depends on the size of the tank as well as the type of puffer, the one in your specs is not big enough,

what its been fed before also plays a large role. most if not all will eventually snack on the lions fins, and if they decide its food, well dead lion and or stung puffer.

unless you have a very large system that can handle 2 18" fish (guesstimating on the puffer size, other than the tobies which get 6" but who love to fin nip) you will probably run into issues.

How about another lion? A Dwarf Fuzzy Lion would be good. They stay small, would be compatible, and eat the same food so it's easy for you.

I kinda wanted something that swims around more. The lion is mostly stationary, so I was looking for some movement.

i've actually done it with a porcupine puffer and a v lion fish, they left eachother alone, and this wasa in a 29 gallon tank (small with them two together) so it should be fine.

my v lion and puffer get along great, they really pay no mind to eachother, the puffer and snails are a differant story. try a fighting or queen conch, or at least a trochus instead of astrea. the trochus have tougher shells and can right themselves quickly if plucked from the glass
