My girlfriend and I are heading to Destin next week and I was wondering if there are any good aquariums or LFSs to check out in the area while we are down there.

Destin is my hometown. Just moved from there to Portland Oregon.
Try Petland in Ft Walton beach (about a 5-10 minute drive). The Saltwater coral and fish section is run by a guy named John. Good guy.
In destin there really isnt any to speak of. Destin is completly a tourist town. Not many people wanting to buy fish and corals while on vacation. Absoultly the most beautiful beaches in the world, the sand is whiter than snow.

Oh yeah.. Destin has an aquarium by the Peer. However its more of a dolphin / seal / penguin exhibit. They have a better aquarium in Panama city beach but its a 45 min drive.
Oh yeah... if you've never been there before go to Crystal beach. Its directly across from the Destin Commons. Has to be one of the prettiest beaches in the US. They call it crystal beach for a very good reason. Plus they have the Crab Trap bar so you can grab a drink and sit there on the beach and enjoy life.
