Vacationing in Naples

Hi all,

I'll be heading down to Naples for a week vacation this year. Was wondering:

- anything special to see or do? I see there's a LFS link on your website I'll checkout.

- how's the snorkeling?

Thanks!

Snorkeling is better on the east coast. If you've got time, go to the Commercial Blvd. pier in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. The end of the pier is on the reef. Also, Dania pier. Walk under the pier along the beach and into the state park. There will be a lone palm tree. Immediately out from that is a line of "jacks". These are concrete jacks in the water used to control beach erosion. You can follow them out to the reef. The end of the pier is also on the reef. In both locations, the water will get deeper and then rise with the reef. At low tide, both are in about 10 feet of water. Dania has better ledges, Lauderdale has better top growth. Both are cool and worth a day trip from Naples if the seas are calm. Check the beach forecast on weather.com
