Valentini puffer help

I came home last night from being gone for a few days and my valentini is very dark in color and has attached himself to a rock and won't move. He is having a lot of trouble breathing, it is very rapid and his eyes are darting everywhere. He is very distressed. Last Thursday I dosed the tank with ick shield powder because I thought I saw a spot on my hawkfish and a few fish seemed to be scratching. All of the other fish are doing great, but the puffer looks like he is about to die. I turned the protein skimmer back on and the lights and am about to test the water. This fish has never had any problems at all, very active, great eater. I'm really worried about him. I added some prime to the water just in case but it had no effect.

I did that a few hours ago actually haha. Well I put him in a bucket with no heater, an air, no light. And I have been gradually reducing the salinity so as not to shock him anymore. He is completely
Swollen all over his entire body. He is so swollen he can barely move his gills to breathe. Any idea as to what it could be?

He didn't make it. All of the other fish seem fine. Put the body in freshwater, didn't see any flukes. Should I be really concerned about the rest of the tank? I really just don't know what happened

Yeah I know. I loved that fish he had had a dark almost bruised area on his abdomen. I took pictures but they won't post.

The body swelling can be caused by kidney failure. You can drop salinity rapidly without the need to acclimate in future. Only pH. The hypo give the kidneys rest in theory. Sorry about the loss.

This was rapid swelling. I was thinking septicemia along with kidney failure.
