over the years ive had a couple small fish vanish from my tanks always been small fish like gobys that can be eaten up quickly by crabs and some larger spec of lps corals , last night i checked up on my female adult Ocellaris clown that i brought home from the reef shop on Saturday she has been doing great in my system and my male has taken to her immediately , she had taken to hosting in my large patch of frilly green mushrooms and looked very happy . this morning when i went to feed the tank she was gone all other fish accounted for first thing that pops in my head is check the overflow, the 36 gal refuge and sump, nope not there !!!!!! so i start scanning around the floor behind the tank, around everything and in the stand . nothing even checked above the 150 w de halide reflectors and still so sign , so i go in the tank and start moving around some of my corals and rocks that can be moved checked behind the rock work and still nothing. i dont get it she had to go somewhere, there is not much that can eat her in 7 hrs time i dont think only a hand full of tiny blue leg reef hermits and 2 small emerald crabs , none of my large brain corals look to have a fish in them . im really bummed out about this

Check the pump intake. . . . found one in there once before I put a screen on it, my fish went up and over the overflow, into the refuge, through the sump and in to the return. Sad but could not help thinking of Nemo. .

that is very strange. I saw a video of a fighting conch eating a whole clown on youtube. Also, a bristleworm tried eating one of my sick fish.
