I'm planning to run my Vectra L1 externally using the bulkhead hole on a 75 gallon rubbermaid stock tank. I was able to exactly fit a schedule 80 1" bulkhead into the hole to replace the poor quality rubbermaid bulkhead.
I have the Ecotech adapters that provide 2" on the input and 1.5" on the output.
Will it greatly disrupt the pump operation if I have a few inches of 1" pipe coming in to the Vectra input or should I attempt to drill the rubbermaid bigger for a 2" bulkhead in there? I've always heard that you never choke down the input to a pump, but am wondering if a few inches of smaller diameter PVC which will have about 12 inches of water height behind it in the sump will be fine.
