Velvet?

Hello, I recently moved my fish from one tank to another after upgrading.

It's been a week since yesterday. My hippo tang started scratching itself on the rocks three days after the change. (I know my tank was going through that mini cycle) my levels now are all great 0s and amonia was at a .1 but I did a water change.

Anyhow, I came home today and this is what my hippo looks like now ImageUploadedByTapatalk1437345852.733119.jpg.

Yesterday it had white smudges on its skin but right now it has, what it looks like, a piece of its flesh missing. Is this velvet?

It's swimming just fine. It eats. It's just breathing hard and rubbing on rocks here and there.

How much of a water change did you do to bring it down from .1 to 0? Do you have any Prime or something to lock the ammonia?
Unless you have added something new within the last few weeks it's more than likely not velvet.

If it's not velvet. What could it be? My other fish don't seem to have any of these markings. The tang had a white coating. Almost looked like sand dust. I dosed my tank with two part calcium to bring the calcium back up. I also put some prime (seachem). I've only done one water change since it's only been a week. I did a 15 gallon water change. I'm waiting for the hippo tang to go to sleep so I can transfer it to a QT.
