Vermetid snails

I had the over feeding decease. I think I'm over it now. However, I now have an infestation of these guys. What it the best way to get rid of them?

How old is the tank? Limiting the food source and time is your best bet IMO. You can try putting a dab of super glue gel over each tube to seal them shut, but this can be kind of tedious to do. Breaking the shells off or crushing them is another option, but if you don't kill the snail itself it will just build another home.

The tank is a year old or so. I've really cut back on the feeding. It is just a 24 Nano with a Clown and a Damsel with a banded serpent. A couple small corals.

According to Ron Shimek, Copperband Butterflys will eat them and some hermit crabs will as well.

I usually crush them best I can and my six-line usually takes them out afterwards

Don't think a Copperband Butterfly would do well in a 24 gallon tank. A six-line might do the trick though.

Honestly they just dont bother me that much. They do filter, they are not especially aggressive, and unless they try to cover a coral I just ignore them. They seem to come and go like any other tank cycle.

I also used to have an infestation. I just scraped them off the glass a couple of times and left them on the sand where they died. Then gradually they all disappeared when I didn't give powder food for a while. I think since you are feeding less they'll disappear so there's nothing to worry about.

There seems to be a smaller number of them, but I don't want to kill a bunch off and have it effect my water chemistry. Finally got things where they need to be.

I heard bumblebee snails eat them. Had a bunch of vermitid so added 12 bb snails and have noticed s decrease. Whether or not the 2 had anything to do with each other I'm not positive. YRMV
