I've been away for a while (I should say "Quite a while") and I wonder if the surging problem with these has ever been resolved. I bought it just as the price dropped but no retailer had bothered to mention they were being discontinued. Was there a solution?

Search this thread for the word "surging". Sounds like a problem with the pump motor block.
