Vertex Omega or SWC 160?

I'm looking to get a skimmer for my 50g cadlights. It's going to be a full out sps with heavy bioload.

Trying to decide between the Vertex Omega 150 or the SWC 160 cone skimmer. Any suggestions? Looking for something reliable and as quiet as possible.

Skip the atman pumps. They're crap.

How good is the pump for the omega?

The vertex has a custom built Sicce pump, its more quiet and based on previous pumps I've owned from them probably more reliaible. I own both of these Skimmers but haven't installed them yet. I can tell you the build quality on the vertex is better IMO but that's what id expect for being 40% more than the SWC 160.

I'm working on a sump and could slap both of these in and could shoot a short video if you would like. They'll be in FW though and I think that can cause a little more noise due to lower density.

I vote Vertex.. I have one now that I just bought 2 months ago, that im gonna unload. I wish they made a bigger version.
