Vertex skimmer

I have recently aquired 2 vertex protein skimmer's I believe thy are an old model because they have the grey pvc rather than the red. And they are missing the pumps, but I got them for free so... what is the best way to identify them to spec out pumps? The only info on the skimmer is the decal vertex.

They are probably made by Royal Exclusive.

Most Vertex skimmers are white.

Most Reef octopus skimmers are red.

Pictures?

Is there anything written on the lid?

Nothing on the lid and I cannot find anything the same in images. On the new vertex models they are red and white mine are grey ( pvc) and black where the white is. I will get some pics up tonight

I needed a new impeller for my Vertex. Called BRS, they gave me a name and number for a US based parts supplier for Vertex. I didn't keep the number, but he was very helpful... got me the right part, fairly quickly. His name was Jason, email was jason@vertextechnologies.net

Best of luck :)

OK so I have been forwarded on and on but now I have some info I do have a vertex IN 180 with no pump, Adam from vertex advised the pump was about 1000lph
Or some where around 260g. So I need a pump I am able to make an adapter within reason. Thoughts on pumps?

If you can't find out what the original pump was, I'd just pick up a similar sized needle wheel pump and retrofit it.

I like Sicce pumps. Sicce SK200 would seem to be about right.

Thoughts on moding the vertex in180 to accept the aquatrance 3000s? The pump is a bit smaller than I would like but it is a close fit and it seems to be the direct replacement for the bubble blaster on the reef octo.
