VertiNate's "Oceanfront Bar" Mixed Reef Build

Thanks Chibilis! Ill make sure to add a full bar shot at the end of this post. After a bunch of back and forth, I decided to order the new Vertex Cerebra controller! I have it installed and wired in and will make sure to put an update on that all shortly. For now, check this beauty out! Bomb-proof packing as per all Vertex gear.

And finally I hung my Radion XR-15pro G3 over the tank and transferred my fish and coral! I didn't have much of an ammonia cycle because I've had the live rock curing downstairs for so long. I also mounted my Vortech MP-10 on the back wall of the tank and it fit perfectly. :bounce1: My coral are all looking a lot smaller as I had byprosis in my small tank and did not plan on introducing it immediately in the new tank, therefore they were cut back a lot to prevent any carryover. The switch over went great and everyone is happy in their new home! My pistol shrimp and goby have claimed the underside of the large rock and are very active digging away as always! Check it out!

Alright time for another update. Check out my sump!

All of the electrical runs behind the small drawer in the center of the stand across to the right hand cabinet. The electrical cabinet is about to get a big facelift once I get my dosers, new ATO reservoir, and a few other things, but its good enough for now.

And a few pics of whats in the tank!

How are you liking the Cerebra? would love some feedback, in the market for a controller and leaning towards the Cerebra once it comes out of Beta

Thanks

Also the flattened bottles are really cool. Beautiful build! I've always loved the aquarium/bar idea!

I am loving the Cerebra so far. Its hard to fully comment on it right now as the cloud functionality has only just gone online. New updates are rolling out weekly. Vertex is doing a great job working with everyone on the forum to make the controller the best it can be. As for the hardware, I think the look of the Cerebra is unbeatable compared to the other controllers on the market. Everything looks very professional. Things will only get better as more and more compatible products are released. The power bars are quite large which is a huge struggle in a nano tank such as mine. I just ordered a second one and have had to do a lot of thinking to figure out how to fit it in my system without making it look bad. All in all, so far I am very happy. I will have much more to say in a month from now Im sure.

Thanks! I picked them up on a street corner in San Francisco last year on a trip.

Time for an update! I have completed the equipment side of my reef . I ordered dosing pumps from BRS and programmed them with my Cerebra. Its been nice to be done with daily manual dosing! I completed my "electrical cabinet" on the upper side of the right cabinet with the addition of a Vortech Battery Backup.

I created a cover utilizing a left over shelf from the cabinet and white trim. I mounted a small brushed nickel knob on the left for easy removal. The cover clicks easily into place using cabinet magnets which I mounted in the corners. It makes it look pretty clean.

I also added a second power bar for my Cerebra. 6 outlets was not enough with the first one. I did not have a lot of options for mounting the power bar due to size constraints. I removed the liquor from the middle of the stand along with the middle shelf. I used the same method for mounting the first power bar as you can see below. I then notched a section out of the shelf before putting it back in place. It looks great and actually did not take up a lot of room in the back. It is totally invisible once the bottles are back in place!

As for dosing containers, I went with Vertex Libra Vessels. They look good and are easy to work with. On the right, I installed a trigger systems crystal 5 gallon ATO reservoir. Check it out!

Happy New Year! Well my tank has been running just over 4 months now so I think its time for a big photo drop!

Enjoy!
