Just wanted to let everyone know that i am very pleased with this salt and will not be using oceanic and instant ocean ever again. I thought my bucket came out pretty clean but you can notice a little brown residue. It is much better then turning the whole bucket white.

i wonder what the brown residue is from?
I've used the RS Coral Pro for a few years now and have never had an issue. I understand the brown residue may be from mixing in the salt to fast which leaves an insoluble film but not 100% sure on that. I have always had a light coating of it in my mixing tank.

I mixed it in a week spanned and i use a Sicce Pump with an air hose to mix my salt and i mixed it to 25. Thanks
How slow can you add the salt?

I've always used it as well, and do get the same brown tint. I started using it when I got in to saltwater, and it was the one on sale at the time. I've never had a problem, so I have never seen a reason to change salts.

If nothing else I suspect it is the cause of what most people think is an incredible growth rate of coraline in my system. (granted, IMO, its a PITA)

I use it as well and really like it. I get the same residue but it's not too bad. I clean my brute container every three months or so.

Where do you guys pick up the salt at? Internet or one of the LFS's in EP? Just wondering cause I am not using Instant Ocean or Oceanic. Had some luck with Kent marine salt, but would rather try the RS Pro salt. I have read rave reviews about it in other forums as well. Thanks!!!

Still loving this salt! I might try brightwell for awhile to see an effect but then again it is a little more expensive. But what i like about them is there facility is in Pennsylvania and they do not use evaporated sea salt to produce it. They also have great quality control from what i have read. Thanks
