its snowing like hell out so im bored today, looking at my tank with the "micro" lens of my hand magnifying glass. I see what might be millions of, for all intents and purposes, "microscopic" brown specks dancing around in the water up to about 1/4 of an inch above the crushed coral, no higher than that. so small i couldnt even see limbs on them. is this just normal stuff?
I havent seen any visible copepods since shortly after i got fish (two clowns and a grammi, also have a little hairy crab in there somewhere, hermit crabs and assorted snails). do these little buggers have something to do with them? or should i just stop drinking my sump water??? :frog:
Calcium- little low at 300
Nitrates- between 5-10 (highish?)
Nitrites- basically 0
KH- 8
PH- between 8.0-8.4
Alkalinity- 120-140
and thats all i have tests for
i am constantly having to add calcium even though my zoo's arent doing so great. using a saturated dose of kalk.
just did a small water change (3 gallons) this morning, and am planning on doing a larger one ( 5 more gallons) tonight if the Fedex guy gets through the storm with my new skimmer and doser. thanks for any info or guesses!!!
