Very Strange Problem

Well I found out what caused the problem when I did a second water change this weekend. It WAS electrical. The cord of my heater was snapped off right at the water line (so much for visitherm "fully submersible heaters") and when I topped off the water on Monday I must have closed the circuit, electricuting my beautiful critters. With all the dead stuff floating on Tuesday I used a container to skim off the top and thus broke the circuit. I can't believe the ground fault didn't trip!!!!

All in all I lost 1 flame angel, 1 coral banded shrimp, 1 sand sifting star, 1 sea cuke, 1 large colony of Xenia, 1 large colony (at least 60 polyps) of green star polyps, 1 colony of yellow polyps (50+ individuals), and worst of all a really large branched torch coral (big as a basketball). Not to mention at least 10 hermits and twice that number in snails.......and all the little guys that come out at night. I'm just sick thinking about it.......

The two leather corals and most of the brown polyps and brown mushrooms look like they will pull through. I have to wait and see.
