So I recently took ownership of a 29g Coralife Biocube. I purchased it with about 25 lbs of live rock, 20 lbs of live sand and the water that was in it. The tank was well cycled, and cared for by a guy who raises clowns as a side business. On night one, I transported it, reassembled it and let it run. Then, slowly the fun began. I got rid of all the sponges and crap that was in the chambers. I installed the inTank media basket and the empty refugium basket. In the basket I run Chemi-pure elete and Purigen. The hood was removed and I installed the new Current USA Marine IC Led light with loop controller and 2 660gph pumps set up as a gyre. In chamber 1 I made an egg crate stand for my Aquatic Life 115 skimmer and placed a sack of denitrate in the egg crate basket where theres plenty of flow. I'm using a coralife 100 watt digital heater and upgraded to a sicee 1.5 pump, both in the pump chamber. My mini ato also resides in there as well. Just recently added chaeto to the refugium basket and placed the IM refugium LED light on the back. Only thing left will be a UV Sterilizer (prob Coralife), on a 3 hour per day timer. Livestock, 1 anemone, and 1 finger leather look great. I do regular water changes at about every 10 days and my levels are now spot on as well as dose phyto-plankton daily and intend to dose copepods bi-monthly.
