You're thinking about identical clones, such as when you buy a BTA (Entacmaea quadricolor) and it starts cloning itself and you end up with dozens and dozens of identical clones in the same tank.

I understand however I thought that even non-clones were okay together for the most part. I thought it was possible for some slight chemical warfare to occur but I never thought they stung each other like that.
This makes me wonder what goes on between different BTAs in our own aquariums. Is there a way to detemine whether or not any type of warfare is going on? Could the sudden demise of one Anemone indicate this?
Hopefully some expert Anemone keepers can chime in here with their own experiences regarding this subject.
