Video of my percs eating fresh hatched peppermint shrimps.

I caught some video of my Percula Clownfishes eating just hatched baby peppermint shrimps under the light of the moon.
Squee!
You can see the dominant one bobbing up and down and grabbing the little shrimps out of the water as they come up towards the moon lights.
Towards the end of the video you can see the dominant female swim over towards the submissive male and beckon him out to eat!

It's a download link.

When you click on it your computer should prompt you to select which viewer you would like to use to view it (unless you have an auto-default in your settings). It will then download into your download file and you can watch it in your preferred viewer.

Is anyone else having problems like this?

I've hosted videos like this on my server for years because things like youtube didn't exist and because I don't have to sacrifice video quality in order to put it up.

Have you maximized your viewing window?
What viewer are you using?
The video has a lot of black in it because it was taken under moonlights only.
At this point I've got to ask if anyone is having any success with this?
Everyone on my LJ can view it correctly.

Let's see if this works.

All I see is a dark tank with the outlines of clownfish as they swim under the moon lights. My clowns love cleaner shrimp fry. They dart around like yours were doing.

[violation].....is this good enough proof for you that I know how to identify the creatures that live in my aquarium?

The peppermint shrimps spawn every three weeks. If the moonlight is in the front I can get them to congregate on the glass so I can take pictures of them. If the moon is in the back the clowns eat them. They're incredibly hard to photograph and incredibly hard to see. I actually hand feed the peppermint queen once a week and I can see when she's carrying under her tail. She spawns about an hour after lights out.

Next time, instead of assuming that someone is wrong and going off to try to find a video to prove it, why don't you ask how they know they're right? If you had asked me "How do you know they're peppermint babies" I would have happily provided the photos, but now I'm completely irritated at your smarmy "bubble bursting" attempt.

Sorry, I stand corrected. You are right, they very well could be peppermint shrimp. [violation]

He's got a point there. I cant believe that they have reached that size in your aquarium. I thought they would have been eaten before that point.

It would be a good idea if all parties took a break for a bit, RC is not here to provide a ring and referees.

FWIW even tho I can't see them in the video, newly hatched shrimp certainly are larger than copepods. Even the eggs they carry are visible.

The pictures of the hatchlings are all taken the night of spawn with a good macro lens. It took me at least 50 pictures to get those three that were in any way useful looking.

Even though they are tiny, they are definitely visible. As you can (or can't) see on the video, the video camera couldn't even pick them up. I think if it was just a couple of them I wouldn't notice, but when they hatch, they all hatch at the same time and there are hundreds of them spiraling up towards the light.

They never last 24 hours in the tank. The mandarinfish eats what the clowns don't.

I have a PJ cardinal that is really the only one up at night just go insane when they toss them out. I had to take a bunch myself.
It's pretty cool to watch. I fished a couple out to try better pics.
