VIDEOS: AquaMaxx FR-Series Media Reactors

Does the FR-S need to be maintained in a certain water level in the sump? Also, can the media be changed without having to remove the entire unit from the sump magnet?

Lastly, do you recommend a similar small sized footprint GFO reactor that is the easiest to change media out of?

As long as the pump is fully submersed, you will be fine. You do need to remove the entire unit to change out the media: however, it is just about as easy as it gets.

As for a comparable unit, the Innovative Marine MiniMax is also very easy to use.

Thanks. I read about the minimax, but heard that it, as with the MR1shorty, tend to need modifications to prevent the GFO from spilling over sponges and tumbling too rapidly.
