Vinegar/Kalk in breeding system

Has anyone tried doing a vinegar/kalk setup on a breeding setup. Just curious, it works well in my display tanks. PH is fine as long as the vinegar dosing is light.

Seems like a simple way to keep nitrates under control and increase skimming, but I have not found any info on anyone trying it.

i've always understod kalk is to increase alkalinity which is an indirect measure of bicarb.

And that the bicarb is for coral growth.

What would be the benefit of bicarb addition in a breeding system?

vinegar is a carbon source, which allows the bacteria that feeds on nitrates to grow faster and increases effectiveness of skimming. So basically adding vinegar helps control nitrates. Vinegar will also lower PH. Thus the need to does with kalk. In most breeding systems you have nothing consuming the biocabs, so you would likely get precipitation, but you would should have a pretty stable PH without adding any bufering elements.

Nitrates aren't really a big deal in breeding systems. It is a waste to strive to 0 nitrates. Fish reproduce and are fine with some nitrates.
