Virginia Reefers ?

Are there many Virginia reefers out there, I for one have been looking for a reef club or possibly starting one if I can find enough people that would be interested. I'm located in the Prince William County / Manassas area (Northern Virginia).

I would love to join up with WAMAS but its just such a drive up to DC and I really dont like to travel there. Anyway are there many Reefers in this area or existing clubs that I'm unaware of in the central Virginia area? If anyone would be interested lets try and get something started even if its something small and we keep it as a frag swap.

Half of WAMAS seems to live around the Manassas/ PWC area. The meetings are held in both DC, MD, and VA plus people are generally willing to drive to do trades and such.

Thanks Jakaufman, I will consider WAMAS, although I would like to also gauge the interest in a smaller more local type of club if thats even feasible.

hey man i live in the hampton roads area and am in the process of setting up my tanks so once i get my frag tank going well have to talk im going to join the Tidewater Marine Reef Society.
Im always out your way hunting and such so well have to get together sometime and swap

You've got clubs in either direction

WAMAS to the north and RRC to the south

I also live in the Hampton Roads area. I am not currently a member of any reefing clubs. I love the hobby but don't know anyone shares the same interest.

Hey Nu2reefVa and Redavdrol; Yeah its really hard being in the middle of two bigger clubs, I was looking to hopefully getting some local peeps together and having a mid to small group of friends/ club to trade frags and help out when needed. I can never find anyone local that is into reefs the way I am.

Mr294; yeah WAMAS and I think there is another down in the VA. Beach- Richmond area. Thanks for the heads up... If I cant find anything local or get something started I will consider joining one of these.
