Visiting Colorado

Where do you guys go to LFS? I am visiting Colorado and I was thinking about taking some coral back to Michigan on a plane. Please let me know where you guys go for coral. I am interested in finding some LPS. I am here all week doing some skiing and hanging out. Thanks for the reply.

i recomend monster reef/animal attractions in greeley....by far the best LFS i have been to so far in this state

Let me preface this by saying that my opinions are only of the LFS I'm visited. There are several that are supposed to be outstanding that I haven't been to yet.

I'd second Animal Attractions. I'd also say Aqua Imports in Boulder. If you want to see the most incredible LPS I've ever seen, check out Neptune's in south Denver. They have a hammer that is probably 4' x 2' (is that a 120 it's in?) and I've heard it's at least 14 years old. It's a big tank and the hammer takes up the _entire_ tank.

Enjoy your visit!

oh and i would also recomend you DON'T go to any LFS in fort collins. They all suck. D&G is imoral, they will do anything to a fish for a buck. They sell shark eggs all the time, they keep at least 20 to 30 scooter blenneys in a 30gal space with NO live rock. There fish always look in poor health, and they sell live rock at insane prices. There dry goods are over priced too. And denezins is just retarted. I got a fish from them once and measured the SG and it was 1.012....told them, they did not sound like they were going to do anything about it. They almost made it sound like I was lieling, but i measured it with a refractometer (which they don't sell). I hate them both and I refuse to give them any money.

Colorado Springs LFS

Colorado Springs LFS

If you're down south in Colorado Springs I'd suggest going to Exotic Aquatics 2926 Wood Ave. This is off of Filmore (exit on I-25) and Wood ave. If you time it right (usually Wed night or Thursday) you can get a killer deal on corals. Call Trey at 719 475-1675 and ask him when he's getting a shipment in. He usually sells all coral for $19.95 or sometimes less. You won't get a better deal anywhere in Colorado. I've bought coral from him for $19.00 and the next day saw the same coral in Denver for $30.00.

Another place to visit is Seascape Aquatics 5038 N Academy Blvd. They also have a huge carpet aneonmie ? in a display tank. Usually have a fair amount of coral for sale.

Have fun.

Shinny, here's my $.03 (inflation, you know) on the Denver LFSs

One thing to note...the interactive map that's linked from the top isn't up to date. The phone number for Premier Fish and Reef is wrong (correct on my page) and Pure Ocean is now closed.
