visiting Jax tomorrow

Tomorrow we're driving up to Jacksonville from Port St. Lucie to see a show at Freebird on 1st Street.

If anyone knows of a good place to camp overnight that would be great.

I was also hoping I could get someone to recommend a reasonable order to visit some LFS's up there on Tuesday so we're not wasting too much time or gas.

I also remember a thread mentioning a few good spots to collect inverts and blennies, but I can't find the thread. I know the laws and guidelines, just not the area. I'd appreciate any help.

You can camp at Hanna Park which at the north end of the beaches. Freebird is south of there about 10 miles maybe in Jax Beach. Other than that there is some camping pretty far south in South Ponte Vedra/Vilano area....but Hanna park is closer. So what's the show tommorrow??

As for collecting inverts....Talbot island is a common place, although I've found plenty of creatures on the riverbank at the Little jetties park (close to Hanna park).

For LFS, there is one here at the beaches....Ocean Reef, they are a pretty good store overall. Have a few knowledgeable employees and have some good corals at times. If you go away from the beaches, Bio reef/ Fish maniac/ and Atlantis are all within minutes of each other in the southside area. Further directions can be given if necessary.
