vivid aquarium?

To date I've gotten just about everything alive from my wonderful LFS. However, I've been wanting to add some things that are not available all the time...

I was just looking for some opinions about ordering some corals online? I would imagine they don't ship all that well and would be heavily stressed on arrival. What is everyone's experience with online fish stores?

I see vivid aquarium pretty much everywhere...how are they compared to the rest?

I've never used vivid aquarium, I've used Dr's Foster and Smith several times and been impressed with the condition they come in. Their packaging is impressive; box completely lined in hard styrofoam with the bagged livestock inside.

No fellow reefers in your area? I'm the type that likes to see what I'm buying b4 I pay for it. But that's just me.

I've never ordered online from Vivid. I live close enough to visit their store in person.

I can say with 100% confidence that if I had to buy online, I'd buy from Vivid. They run an extremely professional operation. I've never seen a diseased or dead fish in any of their tanks. Nor have I seen an unhealthy coral.

I have ordered from liveaquaria before. I chose them because they are supposed to have great livestock and they have the best gaurantee of any company out there. Their captive certified corals are guaranteed for 30 days.

I have made a trip to visit Vivid's Store. I was very impressed with their whole store. They have a great selection of frags and the main colonies are increadible. I have alot of LFS to chose from, Its a 3 hour round trip for me to travel, so I have not yet made a purchase. I sure wanted too, I just was not prepared to drive straight home with tank goodies in the car.

Give them a try and let the RC community know how it went !!

i never had a problem with vivid I ordered a few few times from them. The only bad thing is no matter what time of day you place your order it won't go out the same day. It has taken three days to get my order from them, and they don't ship without making sure someone will be home to except the order but that is a good thing.

Vivid is one of the better stores in southern ca for animals I am only about 30 minutes

I didn't even think of a reef group. I live in Chicago, so I'm sure there are several. Great idea.

If I end up ordering from vivid, I'll let you guys know. My only concern about them, really, is that they are a bit far from Chi-town.
