Vodka

There is an article somewhere of how much you should start with depending on tank size and current levels of P and N, I cant find it but im sure someone here has the link, I think its an artilce by Randy maybe?

I have been dosing for 2 weeks and I can already see a diffrence! Ive only scrapped the glass once in the past 2 weeks, it used to be every other day. The Hair algae has gone down as well. The worst problem I hade with it was getting my skimmer in check it started skimming very wet, and then I had a cyno out break as well, so I started using MB7 along side with the vodka and all is well now.

Check out the latest Coral Magazine. Their is a DIY recipe in there and a dosing regimen. I dose VSV and Microbacter7. The water quality has improved dramatically and my corals look brighter (even the softies).

I have a 50 gallon system. I tried the recommended dosing the one in the above post, and started to see some problems. I now dose .1ml 2 times a week. I am getting good results with this so far. Over dosing is easy to do so take a minimal approach to vodka dosing. I have a log in the SPS forum on my experiences so far.

As stated, read the article posted above. Don't "just try it". If you screw up you have a very good chance of killing every coral and possibly fish in your tank. Research research research! Do you have a good protein skimmer rated to at least 150% of your tank volume?

how could you kill every coral in your system? Maybe that's the case if you dose 500 mL.

start with maybe 1mL.

You haven't seen any threads on here and other places about large bacterial blooms by dosing too much or inadequate aeration and skimming etc...?
