vol_reefer's pre-sales

Bali green slimer (acropora yongei). Original source: RC member Evil Mel. A classic beginner coral. Very fast growing - needs a lot of room to grow. Actually seems to develop more intense coloration in moderate light. ~1.5" frag for $15.

and

ATL Ultimate Purple Staghorn (acropora yongei). Original source: Atlantis Aquarium. Looks just like the green slimer, but in purple. Also a very fast grower - maybe just slightly slower than the green. So far I haven't been able to develop the ultra-intense purple seen on the Atlantis website, although it definitely has been purpling up since I upgraded my lights. I expect as it grows closer to the lights, that will also help. 3/4 - 1" frag for $25.

Lavender acro (sp?). Original source: Not sure, but I think it was a freebie frag from kmagyar. Has a sprawling growth form similar to kmagyar's Incredible Hulk, but in a pastel purplish color. Polyps are a nice deeper purple. Was slow to start growing, but has really taken off. $15 for ~3/4 - 1" frag.

Furry green stag w/ blue tips acro (sp?). Original source: Upscales. The coolest thing about this colony is the way the large pistachio green polyps cover the body, making it look quite hirsute. Thick branches with pretty baby blue tips. This was a slow grower at first (did nothing for several months), but it has taken off nicely now. I only want to cut one frag, on the left where it is starting to get a little too close to my Oregon Tort. $20 for the frag.

Last post!:

Green pocillopora. Original source: Upscales. Fast growing, to the point of almost being a nuisance. I think of it as my tank's "calcium sponge." The large colony seen in the photos was a 3/4" frag just a couple years ago. If someone is interested in the whole colony, I'd sell it for $120, provided I can keep one or two small frags to propogate some more. Otherwise, ~3/4" frags for $10.

and

Purple pocillopora. Original source: Nashville frag swap (I think). Also fast growing, but not quite as fast as the green. Willing to sell the whole colony for $80 if I can keep a small frag or two. Otherwise, ~3/4" frags for $10.

I'll check back in tonight to start making lists of pending sales if anyone PMs me or posts. I'll answer any questions then, too.

Thanks.

The "furry green stag w/ blue tips acro" frag is taken. At least one frag of everything else still available. I probably won't be bringing much (if anything) to the swap that isn't a pre-arranged sale/trade, so if you see something you like, let me know.

wow sexy sps! I love how that slimer branched out, big gnalry branches :)

I want a piece of that purple stag, thats sweetsauce

Flavum - PM'ed you on the request above.

I think with Flavum's request filled (plus another one already arranged via PM), the ATL Ultimate Purple Stag is closed-out for now. My main purpose is to have a nice display, not frag for sales, so I don't want to hack things up too much. If someone else wants a frag of that, I'd be happy to cut another frag in a month or two after the colony has grown out some more.

At least one frag of everything except the ATL ultimate purple stag and the furry green/blue tips acro is still available.

Purple plating montipora (cap?). Original source: The Coral Reef, but I think they got it from RC member cee. Looks like the Idaho Grape to me, but I can't demonstrate that lineage (maybe cee can comment).
Sorry, just saw this. That coral is in wide distribution and everyone who has a traceable Idaho grape for comparison says they cannot tell the difference. My frag originated from Dr. Mac back in February 2004 and grew like crazy into the 10" colony (?) that now resides at the Coral Reef. Just got too big for my tank, but it is a beautiful coral that, if conditions are right, is a real stunner, complete with blue polyps. Probably M. hodgsonii

Hi Tommy. Yes, it's yours. I'll bring it to the swap. Most of the long-time ETRC members know who I am if you have trouble finding me. I'll probably only be there for the first couple hours because I have to get home for some company visiting from out of town.

If anyone else is interested in frags, you can PM or post up until about 11 am. I have at least one frag left of everying I posted except the following: the green a. florida, the Atlantis ultimate purple stag, the purple plating monti, and the furry green stag w/ blue tips. If someone wants one of these, let me know and I'd be happy to frag it for you when my colonies grow out a bit more.

Jeff (vol_reefer)

P.S. Dave - thanks for the background on that coral.
