I gotta say... over the time I have known Tom, I would have to say he's most likely one of the more patient and understanding people I know... for gosh sakes... he's got kids...lol. I have always seen him as rather reserved, and not outspoken... so to get him 'fed up'... well... thats not easy. Tom said what he wanted was something that didnt need tinkering or constant adjustment... 'plug & play' so to speak. My hope is that with the addition of the Alita, it will finally be what it should be. The only gripe then, would be the fact that this need wasnt disclosed up front, and that the solution was to simply get a 'here are some parts, see what you can do' solution. I think that if the need for a linear pump was disclosed up front... well... nobody could complain. But to be told 'its all good' only to figure out later on its not and have your system start to crash on you... well... Id be upset too. Not everyone has an airflow meter to see for themselves whats REALLY GOING ON, you know? Its a simple $200 solution that could have been disclosed before it cost $1000's in livestock damage. Tom ALMOST was aggrivated enough with his tank's direction that he almost threw in the towel over this. I know the proponents of Volcanoes out there would like to mitigate the problem, but it is what it is. FWIW, I am still a fan overall... I think the Volcanoes are one of the best built and bang for the buck skimmers out there... IF THEY ARE FORCE FED. They may not be a cone body skimmer... and IMO the body could take more than 5000lph of air if a better pump was made available, but they are still a much better value than say... a BK500 at 4000lph of air which costs $5000.
