Volcano Skimmers

Hi all,

I am looking into a new skimmer to replace a power hungry ETSS and was interested in the volcano skimmers. I tried the website but the link did not work. Does anyone have any info on these skimmers? I heard they are great quality but at what price??? How much do these skimmers run and how can I get a quote? Anyone have any feedback on these skimmers other than the low power consumption?

Thanks

I don't think Scott making protein skimmer anymore. He is retire.... There is a Volcano club in lighting and filtration forum you can get your feed back there.

Yes, he is done. No customer support anymore. I would be careful if you chose this route. I had a 1860 (18" dia and 60" tall) with a NW Dart and Alita 40. It did not perform on my 600 gallon tank and I sold it to another guy who i saw just sold it again...I could never get it dialed in and had no support from Scott to get it working. Large skimmers are a whole different beast to work with. Their are varying opinions on how to dial them in and it was just not worth my time. I ended up going with a couple Bubble Kings Super Marines.

That explaines why he got out of the business so fast, to many complaints probably. The volcano skimmers I have seen look out of this world though. How much were these skimmers going for anyway??? $2000.00, $10,000.00???
