The answer was provided by Sushiluver on another thread, so here is the answer on how to test.
the best way to 'test' for it is to take a volt meter, (the cheap kind will do), set it to AC voltage, (the squiggly line), and set the 'scale' to 120-200 volts.
Then touch one probe to ground, (the screw on the switch plate?) and put the other probe into the water. If the meter moves at all, not good.
If the meter moves then start unplugging things, ONE at a time until the meter doesnt move.
Please keep in mind, this is a wild *** guess, based on little to no info, just trying to eliminate things..
