vortec mode

not sure if this has been brought up here or not but I am curious to know from those of you that are currently using any mp10's or and mp for that matter what mode do you keep it on..... I just upgraded my es to a wes and bought another to go with it. I have always used lagoon mode but last night I was feeling weird and put it on the green which I think is night time mode. Any thought?:wavehand:

I actually have two MP10's - used to run an MP10 and an MP20 - but the tank seem to like two 10's better...odd...

One is on the left side of the tank running lagoon mode at 70% and the other in on the right back pointing forward on Reef Crest at 70%. :)

for the slower night mode you hold down the left and middle buttons until it flashes several colors rapidly, then hold both down again until it goes to a slowly flashing white mode - night mode lasts 8 hours if I remember correctly.. there is also a way to make the lights go out for night mode, it's in the full manual (online, not the paper one they gave you)..

I have always used reef crest, I think it gives a nice random flow. I have 2 mp10s on my 40b, and lately I've been using one of them to make a small constant wave while the other is on reef crest, I really like it.. my euphyllias and sps seem to love it too.

I figured running them on two different modes would clash with each other. I currently have then set up in anti sync mode. I think I just wanted to play with the wireless mode

I have 2 MP-10W ES and I run them both on nutrient export mode. Seems to work really well. It creates a wave for a while an then pulls everything up and towards the overflows. I like the random and changing flow patterns it creates. Its the purple/pink mode. Actually I bought one of the MP-10s from you KidKaos...

+1 On 2 mp10s in nutrient export mode. Mine are in anti sync mode with 48" in between them. Great water movement and not much settles on the sand bed.

Mine are on opposing ends of a 48" tank as well. The flow is great, however they are at 100%

Would switching into nutrient mode cause any negative stir up in tank, if you haven't been using that mode?

IME I don't think it would unless you have very fine sand. It seems to clear the water column pretty nicely but It isn't anything crazy. I also have my pumps about 3/4 of the way up the glass. It is just a nice random flow that seems to go through a cycle where the pattern is kinda from lower to higher instead of just left to right. If that makes sense...
