Vortech battery backup lifespan?

I am considering buying the vortech battery backup.

I am wondering what is the typical lifespan of these batteries inside of the unit?

Is it suggested to run the battery down to zero every now and again to allow the battery to cycle properly?

Also can the batteries be replaced when they are dead or provide little longevity? Outside of warranty of course.

Thanks

3-5yrs lifespan and can be replaced for about $40 once dead. I just did the replacement myself based off of YouTube videos

Perfect! I think I plan to dump my 2 Jebeo pumps and get one mp40 so I will have an mp40 and an mp10 on my 60g.

Kinda getting sick of having to clean them every month because the flow drops by a third. Plus they are an eyesore versus the vortech.

Like mentioned previously, the lifespan is 3-5 years under normal conditions. With that said, we do not recommend completely draining the battery at anytime, but regular tests are encouraged. I test mine every 2 weeks...

Does anyone have any instructions and a link to replace the vottech battery inside or do you need to send it back to ecotech ?
