vortech keeps knocking

i am puzzled here ... i have had my vortech - puchased new about 7 months agao on my 92 gallon - it has worked awesome - i noticed about 2 weeks ago it was pretty dirty with algae - took it out of the tank and cleaned it well - hooked it back up - same adjustment process - slow speed moved the external part till it was silent then sped it up and repeated - couldn't find the sweet spot perfect - well, no biggie, i know it can take 1-2 days to settle in. well, it has been 2 weeks and i still can't turn it up to max speed without it sounding like it is going to explode. at about 40%, it is okay, much past that and it is loud - what do i do? do i need to send it in for a replacement? thanks.

thanks - i will try that over lunch - i have also emailed ecotech directly - thanks.

one other thing - after i cleaned the pump, i had trouble with the magnet driver losing its bond to the wetside and a couple of times i woke up to the driver on the floor - well, i adjusted the driver one size up on the strength to hold on - i wonder if that is the problem??

thanks for the fast response via email ... one follow up question - how long should i plan on this being out of service? do i need to send my battery backup as well? Thanks.

Repairs are normally done the same day. I do not ship until the following day so as to leave the pump running over night on test.
There is no reason to send the battery back up as it has nothing to do with your problem.

Please try to keep all questions in the e-mail channels so I do not have to answer the same question in 2 different venues. Thanks.
