So I just got my mp20 for my 65 yesterday. This thing is awesome, I didn't get the mp40 because I have a small tank and some softies and frogspawn and a hammer. I thought the mp40 would be to much for them. But the mp20 is so strong yet gently its amazing. The mp40 would probably have been O.K. I am still very happy with the mp20 in my size tank, and you can always upgrade it to the mp40 easily anyway.


Anyway my real question is does anybody use the night mode? It semms like a good idea, but most of my fish sleep in the rocks anyway. The only ones who don't aree my ocellaris clowns. But they sleep next to my overflow in a little nook, and I put the mp20 on the other side of the tank. The only thing on that side is a K3. And they seem to sleep fine like that. I was just curios if anybody used night mode and why?

And what mode do you run in during the day and what do you have in the tank(allSPS, SPS-LPS, mixed reef, FO)?

I have the MP40W and use night mode which turns on around 10pm. I like night mode IMO because it give my pumps a break from running all day, so it allows them to cool down. I usually use the green setting i think its called constant mode throughout the day most of the time. Some days ill set it to what its like outside.. but thats for my own enjoyment lol

I've been considering an mp20 for a couple weeks... I never wanted powerheads in the tank, but I am maxed out on my flow in my tank even with a closed loops and Reeflo Snapper pump... I think I am only get about 44x turnover, and with a SPS dominent tank, I would like to get that number up over 60x... just not with a "regular" power head.

Good to hear you like it.... I think the my LFS has one and wants $369... Good price?

I think $295 is the average price online.
Most places would probably throw in free shipping.
