Vortech MP40

nope but I know I want a mp10 really bad but need to save up first. and get a job too lol. Just graduated college and the market here in PA is bad.

Because they can....like Tunze, they have good resale value vs. say a pair of Korailia's.

That's right, just compare the asking price with the buy new price, very close. I would sell every thing out of my tank even the water before I sold my MP40.

I dunno if they are like me, and tried it based on all the praised reviews and how everybody says how good they are. I fell for it and quickly sold them.

what didnt u like about it that made u think u fell for praised reviews ?

They are loud even after three years use and hours of fine tuning alignment. My gf hates them .... I love it they disappear in my tank on the back wall... But flow sucks when placed on rear center of a 65 gallon... And the dry side keeps me from puttin them on the sides of the tank. Ehh maybe I'll add a k4 to each top corner or hide them in the rocks... I only have 20 of them Layin around ...

Back on topic they are selling due to upgrade or downgrade alot bought them and they are to strong

A spare wet side is 100 bucks. (They last about a year in my case.) I think one can sell the MP40 (used) for about 300 to 350 $$ and then compliment the sale money with the same $100 one would spend anyway and end up with all new equipment. As long as the demand for used remains high, this will likely continue.

Not sure but I picked up mine used, and I'm happy with it. A little loud, but tank is in the kitchen far away from the bedroom.

Just all the threads on how superior they are to Brand X. I don't not like them, I just felt i was further ahead with Brand X instead of investing into more vortechs.
They did not make me think I needed to keep them or justify totally switch over. JMO
I am sure a lot do love them, Just not me.

No idea, gonna have to pry them out of my cold dead hands to get mine..

LOL same here! love mine. i dont think mine is loud at all and its across the hall from my room. i can hear it if i look for it but i run mine at 80% - 100%. i want to get a second one to run em both at low since some times i see a funnel of water getting pulled by the mp40 from the surface :) pretty cool looking but id rather run it lower.

becuase there worth so much money even when used. So when people are short on cash the first thing they think to sell is there vortechs.
