I have a pair of MP40W in my 180G (72" x 24" x 24") tank. Right now they are on the ends directly opposing each other. This arrangement creates lots a flow for our SPS, but I am constantly having to move the sandbed due to a bare spot in the center...

Has anyone successfully positioned a pair of MP40W to minimize sandbed disruption? I have corner overflows. Any tips?

I would appreciate comments from those who have actually come up with solutions. I don't need "book answers"...

Thanks.

We have a standard 180 with a center overflow. Two MP40w's facing each other on opposite ends. We run them in reefcrest mode at about 80-90% power in anti-synch mode. They are about 6-8" or so below the surface. We don't have any problems with blowing sand.

How are yours positioned and how do you run them?

Ah ha!

Ours are also 6-8" below the surface - directly opposite each other of left and right walls...normal mode. I think anti-synch mode may be the key...
Thanks.
