Vortech: Short Pulse vs Long Pulse

Using my Profilux (probably the same as Apex) I can set my vortechs to either short pulse or long pulse and choose whatever length pulse I want.
So my question is... is short pulse set to 2 seconds the same as long pulse set to 2 seconds? Or is there some other difference?

I'm trying to get a smooth back and forth motion across a 7' tank with an MP60 on each side (master and slave-antisync) and having trouble finding the right settings.

Have you tried following the auto tune directions in the manual to set the wave for your tank size? Using auto tune with the Vortech controller worked for me.

Two seconds is two seconds. Short pulse controls under two seconds and long pulse is over 2 seconds.
I agree on using autotune to set the wave
But that may not be possible on the profilux.

ok, i figured it out... there is actually IS A DIFFERENCE!

Whether the pump is set to run 2 seconds or 30 seconds, the pump is pulsing during that time. During long pulse, the pulse duration is longer than it is during short pulse. So if you set long pulse to 2 seconds and you set short pulse to 2 seconds, there is going to be a lot more pulses during those 2 seconds on short pulse. You can hear the difference especially on MP60's. ;)

Not that this helps me with my problem though.
I may need to take them off the profilux, run the auto tune and then try to replicated it with the profilux.
