i want a seahorse eventually and i don't know what i would need for one or what other critters to stay away from for their safety, any info would be great

I notice you have a new 150 gallon! Sweet size tank.
Do you have a smaller gallonage in mind for a seahorse tank?

i have a 20g pretty much set up

A 20 gallon is on the small side. Make sure you have good biological filtration and keep up on maintenance for the tank so that poor water quality does not become an issue.
