Want to colonize multiple zoas on same rock

I have a 12 inch slim horned shape piece of live rock that has been sitting in my sump that I thought would look nice with different zoas on it. If I glue on frag disks it will lose the look. If I glue frags directly on the rock am I going to stress the new zoas too much as I keep taking it in and out to add zoas to it? is there any other corals that will play nicely with the zoas on the rock?

You can glue the zoa frags on the rock without taking the rock out. I started yesterday to do the same thing. I have a flat rock I want to cover with at least 20 different zoas. I put Rasta's, fruit loops and red hornets to start.

I glued a rasta polyp straight to a megalodon tooth and it has grown into like 5 or so no problem you will be fine

Most Zoanthids handle being out of water very well. In the real world they are sometimes exposed on rock during very low tides

You could put the plug on the rock, wait until they spread onto the rock (shouldn't take long, maybe 2-3 weeks), and tear the plug off if you're really concerned about stressing them. I've moved my zoa's around a bit and each time they leave behind some stragglers.

I did just that last week. When I got the frags from the online vendor, I floated them to temperature acclimate them and when I was done with the drip acclimation, I used a knife to take them off their plugs. They did not even find out the missing plug. I glued them all to the rock and they are happy as can be. Pictures below.

I can't wait for them to start expanding and creating one big rock full of zoas.

This is minutes after putting the rock back in the tank.
