Want to start a pipefish tank...

Hi, I am interested in starting a tank with a couple of pipefish. Do any of you have some suggestions or advice?

The ones I have been looking at are dragon pipefish and banded pipefish.

Personally, because of the size the banded's get, I would recommend either a 30 gal. long or even better a 40 gal. breeder. With these tanks I would go with a substantial amount of liverock, a macroalgae biotop, and a somewhat deep sandbed. Regular filtration should be fine, and suffecient enough lighting to keep the algae alive is a must. You are not limited just to bandeds and dragonface you could also get away with a pair of bluestripe's or multibandeds if you like.

I am doing the same thing. I was just given a 24g nanocube. I have the pair of blue stripe pipes in my refugium already to move in there once I get it moved where I want it. I plan on getting dragon face pipes aswell
