WANTED: Laptop PC

I'm REALLY beginning to despise Vista (or my company, which still hasn't come out with Vista-compatible software).

SOOOO, I'm posting now in search of a used laptop PC that's running XP-Pro, with a gig of memory.

Anyone got one that there willing to part with for a reasonable price?

Why buy used???

I saw a deal at Micro Center for $399 for an Acer:

Dave,

Thanks... looks like a good deal... but, I need XP, not Vista... I have a new notebook that runs Vista and I cannot run the software I need. Ugh!!

you can buy a mac with an intel chip, that can run both Mac and PC.
But, I'm sure not for the price range I'm looking at.

This is to be my second PC... basically need it just until our corporate software will run on Vista. So, I'm not looking to spend and arm and a leg.

outlet.dell.com

I bought my last 6 or so comps from them, including 2 laptops.

heres a good one for $669.

They have others. Usually there is some promo as well (free shipping, warranty etc)

I have always bought the extended in-home warranty for laptops and have always been glad I did - numerous tech calls replacing worn parts at no cost. great service - if you buy it up front. otherwise its an arm and a leg.

anyway, what does this have to do with reefing? :P

I think for what the Mac Book is it outvalues any othe notebook that can only run one OS.

Gus, let me know when your ready for yours.
