Wanted- Rose Bubble tip

My green BTA fragged fine except that my slice was a bit off--so one piece wasn't big enough to survive. The other part (85% of it) healed up in a week or so and is now perfectly happy...

Did you save my voicemail to you that day? :(

The only message that is permanantly on my voice mail :(

I treat all new anemones with atleast a 24hr bath of doxycycline at 10mg/ gal no matter how good they look. There was a thread awhile back on the treatment regime, but I strongly suggest doing it with all anemones.
Sorry to hear about the loss.
Joe

Joe, Sure now you tell me..... :( The big debate in the thread of the red carpet i had going in the clown and anemone forum was if this could even be done. Seems most people didnt think it could be being they dont reproduce by splitting in nature. However out of all the people against it there was one person who claims to have successfully done it and had pictures to back it up. Ill stick to RBTAs only now. Ive successfully split 5 of them so far and im going to cut them again and so i always have a supply on hand and also my 30 cube is now dedicated to them similiar to what Keith is doing. Just my 5 hybrid clowns im keeping and a tank full of RBTAs :)

I am soooooo sorry to hear about the anemone......I hope the other half does well.

A friend of mine borrowed my dremel months ago--I guess I will have to get it back before touching my bubble.

Just reading from Spracklcat about the slice being off---how nervous were you guys the first time you did something like this?

we never cut the red carpet---it just died--its mouth never closed tightly either and it never took hold in my tank.......The green carpet i bought as an experiment died too. My water tested within the normal parameters but anything is possible.
The RBTAs ive sliced have all done well except for one that was bleached. I was off center on one of them and its healed fine so i think as long as you get part of the mouth you should be ok. This is just IMO
I wasnt nervous at all then i sliced the green carpet or the rbtas :)

I have also been playing Mack the knife. I cut 2 BTA about 3 weeks ago. I got 4 anemone out of each. they are eating and doing fine. I also cut a beaded anemone in half and it was doing fine until I put it into the butterfly tank. I cut a green carpet in half and one half made it and the butterfly's got the other. The half that made it is eating like a pig

.
Joe , what is this stuff and what is it supposed to do?

Thanks Doug.

Doxycycline is a very common tetracycline-like antibiotic, which interferes with protein synthesis selectively in bacteria. It is used in humans and animals, for repiratory and other infections (like Chlamydia).

good one doug!

So, Chuck, you're taking one for the team? :)

Of course, you could just go to your veterinarian and ask nicely for a prescription, but that wouldn't be nearly as much fun.

Yeah,Sure, Why not? I've always been know to be a team player.
but I draw a line. no Ghey stuff ... :smokin: (*not that there is anything wrong with that! )
*quote from Seinfeld

anyway what's a little Chlamydia between friends?.... huh?

My veterinarian wouldn't give you anything for free INCLUDING a Prescription. but he'll sell you the meds for 10x the cost plus charge for a office visit!:D
