wanted: to buy small tank/stand

Hello fellow reefers I just relocated down to Bradenton from Alabama. I am looking for a tank and stand. So anyone that has an unused reef ready tank/stand thats collecting dust in the garage that you desperately would like to see gone and dont want much for it please let me know. I have most of the equipment to get it up and going. I left behind my 55 gal but stripped it and took what i could squeeze into my car with two kids, two cats, one turtle and a rubbermaid full of rocks and corals. its all currently setup in a rubbermaid with the skimmer going and looks horrible. I left behind a cheating ex husband hince the sudden move and lack of funds. So if you have a tank and stand you dont mind parting with at a low price please pm me. If you don't find anything try Lew at Father Fish Aquarium in Venice. He buys setups and parts them out at reasonable prices.

Hi Carrie, I have a 30 gallon [tall] with a wrought iron stand and an eclipse hood that I would part with for $50. The stand need a coat of pain or at least a good scrubbing and the eclipse hood has a broken hinge but otherwise is operational. I also have a 175 gallon with stand for $300. Guess that's larger than you were looking for. Let me know. I live near Bradenton and have a truck to deliver. Donna

thank you for all the responses. my wonderful grandma got me a small tank out of the paper but its a regular tank. not sure of how to set it up. is there a certain kind of hang on back over flow thingy that i can pick up at a local store here? i was hoping to avoid any extra plumbing but i am sure i can figure it out. i have a sump i would like to use. can this be plumbed to an hob thing. sorry guys for so many questions. i am used to the corner over flow i had on my old tank. well i guess i am off to research this. thanks again. you need an overflow box, usually around 25 -35 bucks for a small one u tube style. once they have a syphon started they work pretty good. you would hook the drain to your sock or whatever u use and then bring your return over the back of the tank, hope this helps. check out kd's oceans and reefs at st rd 70 and i75 in the publix plaza or aquarium architechture on hillview.

I drilled a 10 gallon tank with a dremel and diamond bit. It's more like cutting a hole though. If you're not willing to try that I'd suggest you find someone willing to drill it. A HOB overflow takes up a lot of room in a small tank.

Thanks Donna! The tank is looking good. Water is all cleared up and everything is testing fine except nitrates are a little higher then i would like to see them. I am sure its cause of the die off and the rocks might be going threw a mini cycle. I am thinking about getting some Chaeto to put in the tank to help absorb the nitrates but not sure if thats a good idea to put it in the main tank. Once i get the sump up and running I can put it in there. This is like starting over with a new setup again so i need to do some refresher reading. Not sure if i should just let it cycle or do some water changes for a couple of days straight. If anyone wants to give some advice i would love to have it. In the mean time im off to research some more. Also thanks everyone for helping me with the earlier questions i had. Carrie
