Wanted...

i have plenty of anthelia not sure of the spelling there some people call it waving hand xenia. you can have some if you want it.

I'm moving next week and I'll be cutting out all of my Xenia. Let me know if you want it, otherwise it'll be thrown into the yard. I'm in C'ville.

Wow you guys! I really appreciate it. I am going to Ade's on the 28th so if anyone is also planning on going bring the frags. I'll take whatever you all don't want. As long as they don't sting and are fairly simple to care for I'll gladly accept. Thanks again to you all. Now anyone have any duncans that they want to sell? I have looked on Ebay and since I am fairly new to the hobby I don't know what looks healthy and what doesn't look so healthy. Any advice on this subject?

I got a really nice duncam from Mr. Coral on ebay. It is doing really well. It finally has about 3 baby heads getting ready to sprout out, otherwise I'd hook you up. If you have any questions about Duncans pm me.

"otherwise it'll be thrown into the yard"

Even though it's xenia and grows like a weed, you should still be a responsible aquarist and not kill it.

Hey Josh I will be traveling to Shadwell , which as I understand is not to far from C-ville... I would be more than willing to pick it up and distribute it to any who want it down here....

I'm gonna hold me tongue and not say what I'm thinking right now.

Eric, Shadwell (Thomas Jefferson's birthplace) is a stone's throw away from Charlottesville. When are you visiting . . . and why? :D

Xenia can grow so fast there really isn't anything else to do with it other than toss it. One of the guys who used to be in the club here would literally trim 250+ stalks from his tank at least once a month. once you've given it to everyone and the store has all they need, there's really nothing else to do with it. Too much of it and it's a pest. When you're overloaded with it and it's choking out other corals, i don't see it as being any different from pruning algae or killing aiptasia. It's not like flushing a fish.

Don't try to confuse the issue with logic. That pretty much ruins things. LOL

Manderx, exactly! Next thing you know people are going to recommend we save red bugs and zoa eating nudis.

You can't even give away Xenia up here.

LOL and here I am asking for it. I just love the way it sways in the water flow. :mixed:

Xenia is nice. The swaying and the pulsing look great. My wife loves it. Unfortunately, if left unchecked it'll become the only coral in your tank. Nothing stands in its way. It's the kudzu of reef tanks.
