War coral

Thought I'd post a pic of my JenDub war coral. This is by far my favorite coral in my tank. Are there any other nice colors that favites pentagona come in?

That's a beauty. Does anyone know how long the sweepers get on pentagonas? I'd like to get one but don't have much clear space left in my current tank. I'm also curious about light and flow requirements.

They come in a few different nice colors... I'm trying my damndest to pick up the Tyree Peace coral to go along with my war coral... I'll try and get a more recent shot of my war coral... I believe JenDub's is the same as the Tyree auction edition... Look the same at least... lol :D

My sweepers get pretty long sometimes up to an inch... But I feed mine fairly often... You don't really have to have that strong of lighting... You could probably get away with PC's if you had a shallower tank... And low to moderate flow would be sufficient... I don't think they'd like high flow... Their sweepers should be out most of the time, and if they're not, that probably means its not happy... ;)

That's actually good news for me. I have other favids that throw out sweepers up to 6" long at night. I can definitely deal with one inchers. Thanks for the info brudda, time to go shopping :)

Yeah, the mouths are smaller than on a lot of other favia, so I think thats why they have shorter sweepers... I dunno... lol :) I doubt you'd be disappointed by your purchase though... :D

Very nice Supra I can't wait till my newly aquired frag colors up to that level. What lighting and flow is that coral under?

No sorry, i dont have any macro shots, my camera skills are somewhat lacking. What should i be looking for to ID and what is the difference between war and peace?

color variation, as long as it can be identified as favites pentagona have a beauty on your hands. A guy in our club had the peace coral and was fragging it out and it looked identical to yours.

it's a shame i cannot get a better picture of it, even with the daylights on, the darker parts actually a nice dark purple. Glows like crazy under the actinics. Everyone that comes over keeps telling me to frag the beast, it still goes 1.5" on either side of the photo. As for fragging, a chisel should do 'er eh?
