Wardworld's "Last Tank Ever" 180 Build

Don't know how to cut acrylic or what to brace it w/ (maybe some more aluminum bars)...I'm thinking of a way to build a PVC frame that the socks could rest in...

Cut acrylic with a table saw and a dremel and use weld on to attach acrylic on edge to add stiffness.
I'm sure you can do it with pvc.

PVC would probably be cheaper and more easily adapted if anything changes than the acrylic....but I would think 1/4" would be fine. Thats what I used (acrylic) when I made mine for my old 40 gallon system.....but I had some scraps sitting around.

I'm trying to come up with something to hold one (maybe two) filter socks in Rubbermaid 100 gal stock sump. If you look at the photo below, the yellow lines outline the area I'd like something to sit on to hold the socks (w/ holes cut in the middle). Any ideas on materials or design concepts???

eggcrate would work well.

Got the acrylic cut (used a local glass dealer) - I'll post some pics tomorrow...currently working on manifold, plumbing, buying lights, etc....going to also post some fish room pics tomorrow....

And finally some buddies helping me with the leak test (it passed :) )

The tank is 24" tall - making it with the stand about 60" from the floor....
Roger, the stand came with the tank. My father and mother-in-law (and wife) worked to add doors and refinish it.
